:. Class Editor

Class editor is a visual UML modelling tool useful to develop standard UML Class Diagrams.

The main features of this editor follow:

  • It is UML2 compliant
  • It supplies native support to model Association-Class
  • It supplies support to package sub-navigation
  • It supplies support to package refactoring (through the Model View), i.e. the designer is able to move a package into another in order to change their hierarchy
  • It takes advantages from all the MO2L architecture features
  • The diagram and the underlying model can be continuously validated fulfilling the UML metamodel (even if a project property can be set in order to disable the validation marks), validation taking advantages from Eclipse UML2 support

This editor is a work in progress tool and there is a well-known lack: it doesn’t support inner class modelling yet.

 

Figure 1 shows the main GUI of the editor, that is a classic Eclipse GUI with a custom perspective, with the editor area with its palette (Figure 2), the Model View (Figure 3) and the other common views.
